TAMMS, Ill. -- Russell David Kelley, 66, of Tamms died Monday, Nov. 11, 2002, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Marion, Ill.

He was born March 29, 1936, in Olive Branch, Ill., son of William and Hazel Hill Kelley. He married Delores Seagraves.

Kelley had worked for Civil Service. He served in the U.S. Navy, and was a boxing champion with the Sixth Fleet.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Kelley of Tennessee, Wesley Kelley of Tamms; two daughters, Barbara Westmoreland of Fresno, Calif., Kimberly Malone of Fort Campbell, Ky.; two brothers, Otis "Gene" Kelley of Villa Ridge, Ill., William Kelley of Springfield, Ill.; two sisters, Barbara Hallman of Chipley, Fla., Sharon Beegle of Pawnee, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Kelley and Dean Hagler Jr. officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery at Mound City, Ill., with full military honors by Pulaski County VFW Post 8891 of Mounds.
