SCOTT CITY -- Russell Emerick Morrill, 87, Scott City Route 2, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Oct. 31, 1905, at Illmo, son of Charles H. and Amelia C. Hillemann Morrill. He first married Madeline Corzine. He and Rubie Mae Pate Leist were married Aug. 30, 1979. She died May 5, 1992.
Morrill was a chief engineer on a towboat with Line Oil Co. in Memphis, Tenn. He attended the Assembly of God Church here.
Survivors include a son, Elmer "Joe" Morrill of Roxana, Ill.; a daughter, Christina Simmons of Marion, Ill.; three stepsons, Glenn Leist of Gravois Mills, Charles Leist of Florida, Paul Leist of Arnold; three stepdaughters, Wilma Gruenke of Patton, Dorothy Devine and Doris Hartnett of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a grandchild.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Revs. Charles Lance and Larie Burdine will officiate, with burial in Lightner Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to service time.
