MOUNDS, Ill. -- Russell E. Hagler, 88, of Mounds, Ill., died Sunday, April 25, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 25, 1905, at Pomona, Ill., son of Thomas and Phoebe Phillips Hagler.

He was a retired section foreman for the G.M.& O. railroad and the Illinois Central Railroad.

Hagler was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mounds, Ill.

Survivors include his wife, Izola Hagler of Mounds, Ill.; a son, Russell Hagler Jr. of Mounds, Ill.'a sister, Molene Childers of Sikeston; a brother, Dean Hagler of Unity, Ill; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds, Ill.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds, Ill., with the Rev. Verlee Eaker and the Rev. Clinton Davis officiating.

Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, Ill.
