Russell Adams

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Russell D. "Rusty" Adams, 46, of Ellsinore, Mo., formerly of Sikeston, died Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Ellsinore.

He was born May 10, 1956, at Dexter, Mo., son of Eula Smiley Rainey. He and Lori A. Elliott were married in 1982 in Sikeston.

Adams was a self-employed farmer. He was a musician and played guitar with several bands in Southeast Missouri.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert D. Adams and Micah N. Adams of Floyds Knobs, Ind., Dustin L. Adams of Ellsinore; a daughter, Kathrine M. Humphrey of Columbia, Mo.; his adoptive parents, Hershel and Euna Hampton of Camden, Tenn., formerly of Sikeston; two half brothers, Gary Minney of Lady Smith, Va., Tim Smiley of Bloomfield, Mo., and a half sister, Kay Herrington of Bernie, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel after 10 a.m. Monday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Riordan officiating. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
