RUSHA ASHER WENDEL

JACKSON -- Shabie Rusha Wendel, 80, of Jackson, died Monday, Dec. 5, 1994, at Jackson Manor.

She was born Nov. 23, 1914, at Lodi, daughter of Rudolph and Eliza Watkins Hahs. She and Earl Asher were married June 29, 1929. He died Dec. 9, 1972. She later married Martin Wendel Jan. 11, 1975. He died Feb. 22, 1990.

Wendel had lived in Jackson since 1945. She worked at the former Dorsey Dress Factory here eight years, and at Lowenbaum Dress Factory in Cape Girardeau 21 years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ.

Survivors include six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter and two sisters.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
