Rufus B. Kluesner, 72, 2411 Erna, died Friday, July 2, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 1, 1921, in St. Joseph, Tenn., son of Frank and Monica Reischman Kluesner. He and Kathleen Scheidel were married Sept. 11, 1945, in Comstock Park, Mich.
Kluesner was a building contractor here many years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, VFW Post 3838, American Legion Post 63, Elks Lodge here, Knights of Columbus at Jackson, and charter member of Eagles Lodge here. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Paulette Beussink and Cecelia Kluesner of Cape Girardeau, Julie Hanna of Sikeston; five brothers, Joseph, Thomas and A.J. Kluesner of Cape Girardeau, Rudolph Kluesner of Scott City, Walter Kluesner of Chaffee; five sisters, Frances Scheeter and Florance Brucher of Benton, Wilhelmena Scheeter of Chaffee, Clairene Priest of Cape Girardeau, Diane Lovell of Anna, Ill., and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral. Msgr. Richard Rolwing will officiate, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 3838.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, and KC rosary at 7:30.
