OAK RIDGE -- Funeral service for Rufina O. Burgan of Oak Ridge will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown. The Rev. Howard Mueller will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today, and Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. to service time.
Burgan, 79, died Monday, May 8, 1995, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.
She was born Sept. 8, 1915, at Farrar, daughter of Joseph and Wilhelmina Bachman Stueve. She and Herbert Burgan were married March 6, 1965, at Lemay.
Burgan was a bookkeeper for Optimist International in St. Louis 17 years. The Burgans moved to Oak Ridge in 1977 from St. Ann. She was a member of Trinity Church at Shawneetown, its Ladies Aid, and Jackson Extension Club.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Rufina Behnke of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Hilmer Stueve of Farrar; four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons.
