Rudy Melvin Emmons, 58, of Jackson died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 30, 1946, at Benton, Mo., son of Eugene W. and Mildred Angle Emmons. He and Dahlia Puerta were married March 4, 1967, in Key West, Fla.
Emmons was a graduate of Central High School. He was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Craftsman Independent Union, American Legion Post 63, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3838, and Cape Girardeau York Rite Bodies.
He served with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Duane Emmons of Jackson, Terry Emmons of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Sarah Evans of Belleville, Ill.; three brothers, Stanley, Mick and Donnie Emmons of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, DeLois Niswonger and Mary Ellen Emmons of Cape Girardeau, Debbie Fisher of Lakeland, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
