ALTENBURG -- Rudolph T. Schirmer, 88, of Altenburg died Wednesday, July 2, 1997, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Dec. 5, 1908, at Altenburg, son of Martin and Emma Holt Schirmer. He and Alma Kutscher were married Oct. 21, 1930. She died April 24, 1995...

ALTENBURG -- Rudolph T. Schirmer, 88, of Altenburg died Wednesday, July 2, 1997, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 5, 1908, at Altenburg, son of Martin and Emma Holt Schirmer. He and Alma Kutscher were married Oct. 21, 1930. She died April 24, 1995.

Schirmer was a retired poultry worker. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son, Clarence Schirmer of Altenburg; a brother, Reinhold Schirmer of Altenburg; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Friends may call at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Friday, and Saturday from 6:30-8:30 a.m.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Church, with the Rev. Charles Weber officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
