PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Rudolph C. "Rudy" Lohmann, 97, of Perry County, Mo., died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.
He was born May 24, 1912, in Perry County, son of Henry F. and Lena Detjen Lohmann, and stepmother Bertha Roth Lohmann. He was married June 4, 1939, to Ida L. Bangert, who preceded him in death July 19, 1992.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Palmer (Sandra) Lohmann and Chalmer (Linda) Lohmann, all of Perryville; a sister, Wilma Mueller of Perryville; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; stepmother; two brothers, Edmund and Arthur Lohmann; two sisters, Emma Oswald and Frieda Lohmann; and a stepsister, Alida Villhard.
Mr. Lohmann was a farmer and drove a truck for MFA. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, where he had served on the board of elders, had been an usher, and had been a member of Men's Choir, Men's Club, Bereans, Fellowship Club and was a former dart ball player.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Thomas Handrick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Southeast Hospice, Immanuel Lutheran Church Debt Fund, or American Cancer Society.
