Rudolf A. Gerler, 90, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, July 22, 2001, at The Lutheran Nursing Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 23, 1910, in Altenburg, Mo., the son of Herman C. and Ottlelie Boehme Gerler.
He worked for the river corps of engineers. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.
He is survived by one daughter, Betty, and her husband, Vernon Steffens of Frohna, Mo. Also, 15 nieces and nephews survive. He was preceded in death by one child, two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2001, at the Lorberg Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Douglas C. Breite officiating.
Burial will be in the Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Memorials may be made to the "Living Hope" or "Lutheran Hour" programs at Trinity Lutheran Church.
