RUBYE HOLMES

Rubye Glenda Holmes, 91, of Cape Girardeau died at her home Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998.

She was born Oct. 7, 1906 at Oak Ridge, daughter of Leo James and Jesse Kate Parmenter Bonney.

She married Ralph A. Holmes, Sept. 10, 1927, in Perryville. He died May 1982.

She was a member of Red Star Baptist Church and was a homemaker most of her life. For two years, she was a caregiver and sitter at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She is survived by three daughters, Margie G. Ward of Jefferson City, Jeanette R. Rains of Grove Spring and Barbara J. Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Four brothers preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Cy Smith and the Rev. Don Stephens officiating. Burial will be at Apple Creek Cemetery at Pocahontas.
