Ruby Marie Statler, 99, of Scott City passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 27, 1916, in Burfordville to the late Lee Sylvester and Anna Elizabeth Kiel Crader. She married Louis William Statler on Dec. 24, 1936, and he preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1995.

Ruby was a cook at the Scott City schools and a seamstress at Ely Walker. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include her daughter, Glenda (Roger) Smith of Scott City; a granddaughter, Alicia Ziegler of Scott City; two great-grandsons, Kyler and Kaleb Ziegler; two sisters, Mary (Charles) Daniels of St. Peters, Missouri, and Lucille Hinkle of Fredericktown, Missouri.

She also was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Loren Boettcher officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
