Ruby Pauline Propst, 94, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at the Stockoff Nursing Home in Fredericktown, Missouri.
Ruby was born June 4, 1922, in Alliance, Missouri, to John Thomas Edward and Emma Louise Cook Stanfill. She and Howard Monroe Propst were united in marriage July 17, 1937, and he passed away Oct. 12, 1991.
Mrs. Propst was a homemaker and an expert quilter. Her family members have many beautiful quilts, thanks to her special talent, which she acquired as a small child. She was a member of the Patton United Methodist Church in Patton, Missouri.
Survivors include a son, Glenwood (Edith) Propst of Patton; daughters, Shirley (Howard) Seabaugh of Foristell, Missouri, and Sue Propst of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Randy (Cindy) Propst of Cape Girardeau, Tammy (Richard) VanGennip of Marble Hill, Missouri, Tina (Scott) Henderson of Fredericktown, Gay (Paul) Sugar of St. Charles, Missouri, Scott Seabaugh of Foristell and Cheri Seabaugh of Wentzville, Missouri; nine great-grandchildren, Amber (Joey) Beard and Tyler (Laura) Propst of Jackson, Trevor Propst of Cape Girardeau, Drew (Faith) Henderson and Riley Henderson of Fredericktown, Jessica (Neil) Flannigan of St. Charles, Mikayla Seabaugh and Dillion Seabaugh of Foristell and Alayna Seabaugh of Wentzville; and six great-great-grandchildren, Brady, August and Halle Beard of Jackson, Addilyn Henderson of Fredericktown and Brandon and Reed Flannigan of St. Charles.
Ruby also is survived by her brothers, Duel (Carol) Stanfill of Arizona and Dale (Brenda) Stanfill of Glenallen, Missouri, along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Larry Propst; daughter, Sharon Propst; brothers, Delmer and Dentford Stanfill; granddaughter, Kim Henry; and great-great-granddaughter, Ellie Beard.
Services were held Oct. 16 at the Liley Funeral Home Chapel in Patton, with the Rev. David McCutcheon officiating. Burial was at the Patton Cemetery in Patton.
