WHITEWATER -- Ruby S. Niswonger, 93, of Whitewater died Saturday June 14, 1997, at St. Frances Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 14, 1903, in Lixville, the daughter of George Thomas and Mary Jane Hahs Henry. On Feb. 22, 1923, she married Freeman Niswonger. He died July 10, 1985.
She moved to Whitewater in 1950 from Cape Girardeau. She had worked at the former International Shoe Company in Cape Girardeau for a short time.
Survivors include a daughter, Viola Riehn of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Frank Niswonger of Jackson, Norman Niswonger of Cape Girardeau and Raymond Niswonger of Whitewater; 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Craig Bodenschatz officiating. Burial will be in Sargents Chapel Cemetery near Sedgewickville.
