Ruby Maxine Fellows, 83, of Jackson passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020, at her home.
She was born June 26, 1936, in Sedgewickville, Missouri, to Jesse James and Metta Elva Barks Loberg. Maxine married Edward "Bud" Fellows on July 3, 1954, at Sedgewickville Methodist Church.
Maxine graduated from Jackson High School in 1953. She worked for the former Cape Girardeau Credit Bureau for 20 years and Finch, Temples, Marchbanks Insurance Consultants LLC in Cape Girardeau for a number of years, until her retirement. Maxine was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Fruitland. She enjoyed playing the piano for friends and loved to go fishing with Bud. Maxine will be missed by many.
Loving survivors include her husband, "Bud," of over 65 years; three children, Terri (the late Dan) Penrod of Cape Girardeau, Connie Schlimme of Cape Girardeau and Steve (Amy) Fellows of Jackson; six grandchildren, Daniel Schlimme, Luke (Bob Ludwig) Schlimme, Whitney Schlimme, Kaleb (Destiny) Fellows, Kelsey (Jason) Berkbuegler and Kia Fellows, and a great-grandson, Rowan Berkbuegler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her three siblings, Denver and Gene Loberg and Thelma Sutton; and son-in-law, Dan Penrod.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday in Chapel B at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Dr. Rodney Pensel officiating. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be made to St. John's United Church of Christ in Fruitland.
A Celebration of Life to honor Maxine will be held at a later date, details to follow.
