Ruby Masterson Edwards, 93, of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, Sept. 30, 1991, at Deal Nursing Home in Jackson. She was born Sept. 20, 1898, at Gravel Hill, daughter of Joseph F. and Mary Ellen Poe Masterson. She married Walter R. Edwards Oct. 5, 1924, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death...

Ruby Masterson Edwards, 93, of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, Sept. 30, 1991, at Deal Nursing Home in Jackson.

She was born Sept. 20, 1898, at Gravel Hill, daughter of Joseph F. and Mary Ellen Poe Masterson. She married Walter R. Edwards Oct. 5, 1924, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death.

Edwards worked at Missouri Utilities Co. 23 years, retiring Dec. 31, 1964. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and its Kumjoynus Sunday School Class, sang in the church choir more than 25 years, and was a member of Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include three nephews, Walter Joe, Jerry and Donald Ford, all of Cape Girardeau; two nieces, Tara Saylor of Houston, Texas and Mary Ellen Lechner of Kirkwood; several great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Masterson, and a sister, Mary Francis Ford.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Neil Stein will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
