BELL CITY -- Ruby M. Barks, 88, of Bell City, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 28, 1902, near Leora, son of Marion and Candace James McFarron. She married Roby P. Barks Aug. 11, 1927, in Newport, Ark.
Barks was an elementary teacher at schools in Advance, Bell City and Dalton, Ga., for nearly 50 years. She also had given music lessons.
She was a member of Bell City United Methodist Church, was active in choir and was a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of Sapphire Chapter 536 Order of Eastern Star here.
Survivors include her husband, and a sister, Sophia True of Advance.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bell City United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jerry Turner will officiate, with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near here.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance after 5:30 p.m. today, and at the church Friday from 12:30 p.m. until service time. An OES service will be held at the funeral home tonight at 7.
