JACKSON -- Ruby Hacker, 85, of Jackson, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1996, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 5, 1910, at Benton, daughter of Levi Spencer and Irtie Cannon Brock. She and Palmer E. Hacker were married July 10, 1932. He died Nov. 1, 1986.

Hacker had lived in Jackson since 1932, and was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church. She had been active in Jackson School activities, and was a former member of Naomi Circle and Kimbeland Bridge Club.

Survivors include a son, Palmer Hacker Jr. of Olive Branch, Miss.; a daughter, Carol Gilmore of Sikeston; a sister, Jane Bollinger of Benton; a brother, L.S. Brock of St. Louis; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. The Rev. O. David Griffin will officiate. Private graveside service will be held at Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to service time.
