Funeral service for Ruby Franks of Cape Girardeau will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. The Rev. Jerry Willer will officiate, with burial in IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
Friends may call at the chapel after 10 a.m.
Franks, 92, died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.
She was born Jan. 7, 1904, in Sky Light Mountain, Ark., daughter of Bilbra A. and Sarah Andrews White. She and Royal L. Franks were married Aug. 11, 1929, at Siloam Springs, Ark. He died June 23, 1950.
Formerly of East Prairie, Franks was a home economics teacher at East Prairie and Charleston schools, retiring in 1966. She also managed the family farming operation until 1987. She was a member of Nelson United Methodist Church in East Prairie.
Survivors include three nephews, Ed White of Cape Girardeau, Tuell White of Arnold, Dr. Bruce White of Toronto, Canada; two nieces, Sarah Howard of Seminole, Okla., and Mary Weeks of Little Rock, Ark.
She was preceded in death by a sister and six brothers.
