BLOOMFIELD -- Ruby Downen, 91, of Bloomfield died Friday, June 11, 1999, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center at Bloomfield.
She was born April 4, 1908, at Stoddard County, daughter of Charles L. and Eliza Cleveland French. She married William J. Downen Oct. 28, 1934, at Hunterville.
She was a member of the St. Joe General Baptist Church at Idalia. She worked for many years as a baby sitter.
Survivors include her husband; a foster son, Ronald D. Hahn of Scott City; two brothers, Van L. French of Roswell, N.M. and Carl E. French of St. Louis; two foster grandchildren; and two foster great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers.
Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. today at the Rainey Funeral Chapel at Dexter, with the Rev. Ross Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at the Bloomfield Cemetery.
