EAST PRAIRIE -- Ruby Margaret Futrell Croney, 76, of East Prairie died Monday, March 5, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 9, 1924, in East Prairie, daughter of George and Allie Higgins Futrell. She and William O'Neal "Bill" Croney were married Nov. 16, 1940. He died April 29, 1996.
She lived in Mississippi County all of her life, and she was a member of the First Baptist Church in East Prairie.
Survivors include a son, Bob Croney of Sikeston, Mo.; two daughters, Maricene Maloney of Burton, Mich., and Joyce Neads of Advance, Mo.; a brother, Billy Futrell of Ontario, Canada; a sister, Dorothy Myers of Tucson, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in East Prairie. George White and Stan Gibson will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
