RUBY BLASINGAIN

EAST PRAIRIE -- Ruby Lee Blasingain, 78, of Herrin, Ill., formerly of East Prairie, died Sunday, May 26, 1996, at Friendship Nursing Home in Herrin. She was born March 15, 1918, in Wayne County, Tenn., daughter of Claude Gilbert and Dovie Pearl Robinson Ricketts. She and James Blasingain were married in 1955. He died Jan. 6, 1969...

EAST PRAIRIE -- Ruby Lee Blasingain, 78, of Herrin, Ill., formerly of East Prairie, died Sunday, May 26, 1996, at Friendship Nursing Home in Herrin.

She was born March 15, 1918, in Wayne County, Tenn., daughter of Claude Gilbert and Dovie Pearl Robinson Ricketts. She and James Blasingain were married in 1955. He died Jan. 6, 1969.

Blasingain lived most of her life in East Prairie.

Survivors include five sons, Clyde Staggs of Charleston, Robert Staggs of Royalton, Ill., Donald Williams of Sikeston, LeRoy Blasingain of East Prairie, Mike Blasingain of St. Louis; a daughter, Dyanne Haddock of Waynesboro, Tenn.; three brothers, James Ricketts of Steelville, Guy Ricketts of Dade City, Fla., Leon Ricketts of Attica, Ind.; 22 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Larry Gammons officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
