Ruben L. "Dave" Davidson, 78, of Jackson died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 8, 1930, in Rector, Ark., son of Ruben L. and Sarah Ray Davidson. He and Sharon Nigra were married July 25, 1958, in St. Louis.

Davidson served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He owned and operated Shell and DX service stations in Cape Girardeau and was maintenance supervisor 21 years at Procter & Gamble. He was a member of VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau, American Legion Post 369 and Elks in Jackson.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard Davidson of Poplar Bluff, Curt and Jeff Davidson of Jackson; two daughters, Connie Hudson of Cape Girardeau, Terry Jones of Jackson; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and five sisters.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bryan McAlister officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
