ROYCE WOODS

EAST PRAIRIE -- Royce Woods, 90, of East Prairie died Sunday, April 19, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Jan. 9, 1908, in Obion County, Tenn., son of Talmadge and Bertha Burton Woods. He and Pauline Ward were married Aug. 23, 1928. She died Dec. 28, 1986.

Woods was retired from Mississippi County Highway Department. He was a member of First Church of God.

Survivors include a son, Hubert Woods of East Prairie; four daughters, Laverne Davis of Chesterfield, Ind., Catherine Bilyeu of Willis, Texas, Betty Banks and Doris McGuire of East Prairie; a sister, Georgia Williford of East Prairie; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, three sisters, and three brothers.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Larry Smith and George White officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
