CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Roy Lee Surface, 76, of Chaffee passed away Monday, May 1, 2017, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
He was born Aug. 15, 1940, in Delta to the late Ray and Martha Arnold Surface. He married Charlotte Ann Lauck on Feb. 13, 1965, and she preceded him in death Jan. 15, 2012.
Roy was a retired truck driver; he was also a retired dispatcher for the Chaffee Police Department. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee. Roy was a member of Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810 and a member of VFW post 3127 in Chaffee. He served in the United States Army.
Survivors include a son, Todd Surface of Chaffee; a sister, Anna Brinker of St. Louis; and three grandchildren, Damien Surface of Fruitland, Rylie Surface of Jackson and Matthew Lancaster of Randles.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Lancaster, and a brother, Jerry Surface.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, with Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee.
