SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Roy Smith of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Chapel. The Rev. David Johnson will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Smith, 89, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1993, at Sikeston Convalescent Center. He and Mayme Early were married Aug. 8, 1931.

He was a service electrician with Missouri Utilities 40 years, and a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, and a son, Jeff Smith of Napierville, Ill.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a grandson.
