POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Roy V. Riggins, 83, of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Dec. 1, 1921, in Hendrickson, Mo. He and Anna Mae Sisney were married Dec. 1, 1942, in Poplar Bluff.
Riggins retired as a test deskman with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and was a former reserve deputy with the sheriff's department.
He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church, a former member of the Civil Defense Emergency Management System, and was a ham operator.
Riggins was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in New Guinea and the Philippines.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cheryl Tolson of Wichita, Kan.; a son, Gary Riggins of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
