BENTON, Mo. — Roy William "Muleskinner" Moore Sr., 86, of Benton died Monday, July 24, 2023, at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1936, in Charleston, Missouri, to Connie Lawrence and Ethel T. Burkett Moore. He married Frances "Becky" Hensley on May 20, 1956, in Benton. She preceded him in death June 6, 2022, after 66 years of marriage.
Roy was a truck driver for Malone & Hyde and Agri-Tran. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
He is survived by two sons, Roy (Shirley) Moore Jr. of Benton and Richard (Jill) Moore of San Antonio; two daughters, Becky Jane (Floyd) Burton, Jr. of Tamms, Illinois and Darlene (Danny) Ray of Benton; a grandson Roy and Becky raised, Patrick (Marisa) Moore of Omaha, Nebraska; brother, Jewell (Pat) Moore of New Hamburg, Missouri; sister, Shirley Hensley of Benton; and 46 grandchildren.
Roy was also preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Bobby Gene Moore; and sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Alfred Haney.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 28, at the church, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
