RISCO, Mo. -- The funeral for Roy Gilbert Magers of Risco will be held at 2 p.m. today at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo. The Rev. Gene Lancaster will officiate. Burial will be in Portageville Cemetery in Portageville, Mo, with military rites to be conducted.
Magers, 76, died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 20, 1926, in Hayward, Mo., son of Roy A. and Rosa Keener Magers. He and Agnes Pauline LaFerney Pardon were married Aug. 20, 1976, at Parma, Mo.
Magers served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roy Magers Jr. of Gideon, Mo., Robert Magers of Cape Girardeau; two stepsons, James Pardon of Gideon, Carl Pardon of Portageville; two stepdaughters, Paula Fenn of Milford, Mich., Vicky Douglas of Risco; a sister, Mary Pardon of Shreveport, La.; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
