EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Roy Lynn Ray, 78, of Titusville, Fla., died Friday, June 16, 2000, at his home.
He was born Dec. 6, 1921, at Zion, son of Benjamin H. and Minnie Whitener Ray. He and Doris Laird were married Dec. 6, 1975.
Ray had lived in Titusville for the past 18 months. He was formerly of St. Louis.
He was a retired engineer for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael Ray of St. Charles; two daughters, Tracey Sandborn of St. Louis and Angel Ray of Cape Girardeau; five stepsons, Normal Cotrell of Jacksonville, Ill., Lee Cotrell of California, Mike Laws of St. Charles and Marty and Matthew Laws of St. Louis; two stepdaughters, Debra Armstrong and Mona Joseph of Titusville, Fla.; two sisters, Betty Pogue and Mary L. Perry of St. Louis; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, a stepson and two brothers.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
