MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Roy Lewis, 88, formerly of Marston and Wappapello, Mo., died Friday, April 19, 2013, at his home in Marble Hill.

He was born Oct. 13, 1924, in Cooter, Mo., son of the late Clovis and Sallie Mae Clifton Lewis. He married Bernice Mathenia, who preceded him in death May 15, 2008.

Lewis was a member of Grace Family Fellowship Church, Masonic Lodge 176 in Point Pleasant more than 50 years, and Lions Club of Marston many years. He was a self-employed businessman who owned and operated a used car dealership, grocery store, rental property, and had been a farmer before retiring.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Carolyn Lewis of Nixa, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Bernita Bell-Parker and William Parker of Marble Hill; four grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa and Tom Brandt of Las Vegas, Nev., Gary and Dana Lewis of Nixa, Jason and Trish Bell of Herculaneum, Mo., Justin and Bobbi Bell of Jackson; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, Mo.

The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Grace Family Fellowship in Marble Hill. The Rev. Michael Sowers, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Mounds Park Cemetery in Lilbourn, Mo.
