OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Roy Lacey, 78, of Olive Branch, died Tuesday, May 19, 1992, at his home. He was born Nov. 26, 1913, in Pocahontas, Ark., son of William Franklin and Ethel Levill Lacey. OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Roy Lacey, 78, of Olive Branch, died Tuesday, May 19, 1992, at his home.

He was born Nov. 26, 1913, in Pocahontas, Ark., son of William Franklin and Ethel Levill Lacey. He married the former Gertrude Hughes.

Lacey was a retired construction worker, and member of VFW Post 8891 at Mounds. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rose Tatum of Thebes; six brothers, Amel Lacey of Baldwin, John Lacey of Riverside, Calif., Orville Lacey of California, Fred Lacey of Olive Branch, Ed Lacey of Granite City, Jim Lacey of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Clara Dailey of O'Fallon, Pauline Moore of Thebes; a grandson, and great-grandson.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Chapel in Tamms. The Rev. Jesse Bellamy will officiate, with burial in National Cemetery at Mound City.
