CHARLESTON -- Roy J. Callahan, 80, of Charleston, died Wednesday, April 8, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 27, 1911, in Portia, Ark., son of Minor and Maggie Saffel Callahan. He and Louise Lee were married Aug. 4, 1935.
Callahan was a retired farmer and landowner. He was a member of the United Methodist Church here, and Elks Lodge in Cairo, Ill.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Nancy Kirkpatrick, Charleston Route 2, Sis Osborne of Cornersville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Richard Combs will officiate, with burial in IOOF Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
