OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Roy Fred Hopkins, 68, of Olive Branch passed away at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at his home.

Fred was born April 19, 1948, in Alexander County, Illinois, son of the late James and Elma Gullett Hopkins.

Fred was an Army veteran and was a retired automotive-parts delivery man.

Survivors include a son, Dylan (Carla) Hopkins of Benton, Missouri; a daughter, Leigh Ann; three sisters, Grace Bigham of Olive Branch, Lois (Larry) Kiehne of Jackson and Brenda Hopkins of Benton; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents.

Per the family's request, cremation services have been accorded with the Jones Funeral Home of Tamms, Illinois.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 13, 2016, at Olive Branch Cemetery in Olive Branch, with military honors given by the U.S. Army National Guard Burial Team and area veterans.
