Roy Calvin Gottlob, 89, of Scott City died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri.
He was born March 12, 1926, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to Joseph Henry and Jessie Idaffe Mayfield Gottlob.
He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Roy was known around Scott City as Walking Roy. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was awarded the Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation Medal of Germany and European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Battle Stars.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of service at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating.
Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery will full military honors.
