DONGOLA, Ill. -- Funeral service for Roy Dale of Dongola will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola. The Rev. Jim Hardway will officiate, with burial in Big Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
Dale, 94, died Monday, June 23, 1997, at his home.
He was born May 19, 1903, in Union County, son of William and Alice Settlemoir Dale. He and Elma Corzine were married Nov. 28, 1928. She died April 23, 1989.
Dale was retired from Southern Illinois Electric Co-Op. He was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Dale of Malabar, Fla., Gary Dale of Montgomery; three sisters, Cecile Wagner of Belleville, Mae Ebersohl of Carterville, Nina Manus of Leland; two brothers, Virgil Dale of Okeechobee, Fla., Warren Dale of Dongola; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, a sister and five brothers.
