BENTON -- Roy Clyde Proctor, 70, of Benton, died Wednesday, June 29, 1994, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 1, 1924, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Roy Sterling and Maude Lula Nanny Proctor.
He married Margaret L. Scheffer, Feb. 7, 1948, at Charleston.
Proctor was a farmer. He also worked for 15 years as a County Committeeman for the American Stabilization Conservation Service.
He was a member of the Benton united Methodist Church and was a former president of the Benton Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roy C. Proctor Jr. and Dwayne Proctor, both of Benton; two daughters, Sharon Le Grand of Kelso, Lucretia Proctor of Benton; a brother, Glen Proctor of Benton; a sister, Mildred Cox of Flint, Mich.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Gregory officiating.
Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
