EAST PRAIRIE -- Roy Clayton Allstun, 78, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 16, 1919 at East Prairie, the son of Roy and Bertie Calhoun Allstun.
He married LaVerne Hubbard on Aug. 18, 1939.
He had lived in Mississippi County all of his life. He was a retired farmer and a member of the First Church of God. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Ronnie Allstun of East Prairie; two daughters, Sherry Puckett of Ironton and Debbie Allstun of St. Louis; two sisters, Louise Conn of Sikeston and Lona Jessee of Santa Anna, Calif.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Bro. Larry Smith, pastor of the First Church of God in East Prairie, officiating. Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park.
