VANDUSER -- Funeral service for Roy F. "Cedar" Alberson, Vanduser Route 1, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Dan Richardson will officiate, with burial in Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bell City.
Alberson, 70, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Feb. 6, 1927, in Piggott, Ark., son of Frank and Mary Magdalene Speegler Alberson. He and Anetha M. Jackman were married Jan. 25, 1951, at Piggott.
Alberson was a farmer, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Buddy Alberson of Bell City; two daughters, Renauta Alberson of Pekin, Ind., Karen Alberson of Vanduser; a brother, Sam Alberson of Bell City; a half brother, Larry Cooper of Blodgett; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
