ROXIE LORENA MITCHELL

Roxie Lorena Mitchell, 88, of Gulfport, Miss., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, Sept. 27, 1991, in Gulfport.

She was born in Clarkton, Mo. Nov. 24, 1902, the daughter of Benjamin F. Henson and Mary Bennett Henson.

She worked as a ticket agent for the St. Louis-Cape Bus Lines and as a desk clerk at the Marquette Hotel. She was a Methodist.

She married Hugh L. Mitchell, who preceded her in death in 1960.

Surviving are three sons, David Blakeney, Gulfport, Diamond Blakeney, Long Beach, Miss., Max Mitchell, Lanette, Ala.; two daughters, Bettie L. Gunn, Cape Girardeau, Marabelle Sams, Gulfport; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Lorimier Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating. No visitation will be held.
