SIKESTON, Mo. -- Rossie Lee Chesser, 76, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born Oct. 15, 1924, in New Madrid, Mo., daughter of Sim and Rose Ellen Chaffin Westmoland. She and Marion Chesser were married June 24, 1950, in Piggott, Ark. He died March 6, 1976...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Rossie Lee Chesser, 76, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 15, 1924, in New Madrid, Mo., daughter of Sim and Rose Ellen Chaffin Westmoland. She and Marion Chesser were married June 24, 1950, in Piggott, Ark. He died March 6, 1976.

Survivors include a brother, Elmo Westmoland of East Prairie, Mo.; and a niece, Melba Nichols, with whom she resided.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and four sisters.

Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the chapel. The Rev. Gaylon Butler will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
