Thomas Ross Poteete Jr., 58, 2044 Broadway, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 1997, at his home.

He was born Aug. 19, 1939, in Franklin, Tenn., son of Thomas Ross and Willie Mai Anderson Poteete Sr. He and Linda Donmyer were married Dec. 30, 1975, in Springfield, Tenn.

A self-employed plumber, Poteete was owner of Cape Plumbing Co. more than 10 years. He also opened Ross's Place in 1988 on Broadway. Prior to coming to Cape Girardeau he owned a plumbing business more than 20 years in Nashville, Tenn.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, thomas and Kevin Poteete of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Rebecca Wolsey of Cape Girardeu; a brother, German Poteete of Springfield, Tenn.; eight sisters, Elizabeth and Margaret Poteete of Nashville, Ethel Johnson of Goodlettsville, Tenn., Grace Morris of Hendersonville, Tenn., Virginia Jones of Callahan, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Joe Payne officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Pallbearers are: Harry Salazar, L.R. Brandes, Don Elkins, Lane Jones, Rickey Lafontem Tony Waldon. Honorary pallbearers are: Dr. Lee Schneider, Bob Brisow, Wallace Rexroad, Julius Yount, Clarence Lohman, and Bob Burke.
