MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Roslyn Waite, 82, of Cairo and Mound City, died Friday, May 12, 1995, in Mound City.
She was born Aug. 4, 1912, in Mounds, daughter of Charles and Edna Travers Scheuing. She married Walter W. Waite, who died in 1969.
Waite has owned and operated Hotel Roslyn in Cairo since 1947. She received the Lay Apostolate Award from the Belleville Diocesan Council of Catholic Women in 1961. She also received the Spiritus Franciscanus Award from the College of St. Francis at Joliet in 1986.
Survivors include a daughter, Cabrini Bierbaum of Mound City; four grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City from 8-11 a.m. Monday.
Funeral mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City, with the Revs. Bill McGhee and Jerome Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Mounds.
