Rosemary Wiggins Rachel, 92, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, in Jackson, Mississippi.
She was born Jan. 24, 1924, in Advance, Missouri.
During World War II, she worked as a riveter in an airplane manufacturing plant in St. Louis. She was the real Rosie the Riveter! She lived in Missouri, lived the majority of her life in Akron, Ohio, and most recently lived in Brandon, Mississippi.
She is survived by her son, Steve (Marcia) Rachel of Brandon; grandchildren, Chris (Katie) Rachel of Brandon and Becky (Tyler) Holt of Mountain Brook, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Lilian and Lauren Rachel and Jonathan and Margaret Rose Holt; daughter, Holly Koerner (Tim Cardarelli, fiance) of Brandon; grandchildren, Kyle of Akron and Kayla of Brandon; sister, June Ferrier of Advance; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Alexander Rachel; brother, Bud Wiggins; and sister, Martha Mitchell.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Morgan Funeral Home, 602 S. Vine St., Advance.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
