CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Rosemary Rolwing Orr, 90, formerly of Charleston, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, at Friendship Village Nursing Home in Sunset Hills, Missouri.

She was born Nov. 11, 1924, in the Texas Bend community of Mississippi County, Missouri, to the late Otto Joseph and Ethel Newcum Rolwing.

Following her graduation from St. Henry Catholic High School in Charleston, she attended Nazareth College in Bardstown, Kentucky, before returning home where she was employed by Simpson Oil Co.

On Feb. 26, 1949, she married Noel C. Orr, who preceded her in death Feb. 8, 2002.

She and her husband moved to the St. Louis area, where she was a longtime member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Webster Groves, Missouri, and worked at Vianney High School for over 20 years until her retirement.

Surviving are six sons, John (Shirley) Orr of Swansea, Illinois, Sam (Janice) Orr of Jefferson City, Missouri, David Orr of Columbia, Missouri, Kenneth (Sheila) Orr of Hillsboro, Missouri, Michael (Anne) Orr of Valley Park, Missouri, and Stephen (Mary) Orr of Kirkwood, Missouri; a brother, Norbert Rolwing of Charleston; a sister, Margaret Stricker of Charleston; two sisters-in-law, Mary Kathryn Rolwing and Joan Rolwing, both of Charleston; 10 grandchildren, Kyle, Louisa, Angela, Travis, Maria, Mick, Kaitlyn, Trevor, Emily and Caroline; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John Francis Rolwing, Mark Rolwing and Patrick Rolwing; two sisters, Sister Helen Rolwing, O.S.U., and Maj. Miriam Rolwing, U.S. Air Force; a brother-in-law, John Joseph Stricker; and two sisters-in-law, Carmelita Rolwing and Captola Rolwing.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Bopp Funeral Chapel in Kirkwood and from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston. Monsignor Richard Rolwing of Cape Girardeau will serve as celebrant. Interment will be in Texas Bend Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her six sons, John, Sam, David, Kenneth, Michael and Stephen Orr.
