Rosemary Lucille Edwards, 76, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at her home in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 16, 1939, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to Russell and Catherine Reiley York. Rosemary Lucille Edwards, 76, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at her home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 16, 1939, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to Russell and Catherine Reiley York. Rosemary and her first husband, Donald M. Way, had six children. Donald passed away in 1973. She and Dean Edwards were married in 1978.

Rosemary worked as a seamstress at the former Paul Sauchs Dress Factory in St. Louis and from 1977 to 1988 at the former Thorngate in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. She liked arts and crafts, but especially enjoyed making Christmas ornaments.

Loving survivors include her husband of 37 years, Dean, of Cape Girardeau; four sons, Donald (Donna) Way of Cape Girardeau, Richard Way of Fruitland, Dennis (Debbie) Way of Jackson and Bill (Wendy) Way of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Adam Way and Amber (Ethan) Grant of Jackson, Chad Burns and Justin Burns and his son, Landon, all of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald; a daughter, Catherine Way; a son, Michael Way; two brothers, William and Charles York; and a sister, LaJune Hutchins.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to time of service Monday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Interment will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
