Rose M. Gregg, 91, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 11, 1917, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Herman F. and Mary E. Volz Schabbing. She and Orval Gregg were married Nov. 27, 1954. He passed away Dec. 28, 1990...

Rose M. Gregg, 91, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 11, 1917, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Herman F. and Mary E. Volz Schabbing. She and Orval Gregg were married Nov. 27, 1954. He passed away Dec. 28, 1990.

Rose was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. She worked at the former Florsheim Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau and at the former Wille's Bakery in Jackson.

Loving survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Patty Gregg; a granddaughter, Sierra Lynn Gregg, all of St. Louis; a stepdaughter, Dixie Moore; a stepgrandson, Jay (Lynette) Moore; a stepgranddaughter-in-law, Terri Moore; four great-stepgrandchildren, all of Jackson; two nephews, Charles (Pat) Schabbing and Dr. Bill (Carol) Schabbing of Cape Girardeau; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter; a stepson-in-law, James Moore; a stepgrandson, Jeff Moore; two brothers, Clem and Rudolph Schabbing; and three sisters, Clara, Dorothy and Gertrude Schabbing.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Parish prayers will be at 7, immediately followed by the rosary led by St. Ann's Sodality.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
