Rose Ann Prater

Rose Ann Prater, 63, of McClure, Illinois, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, at her home, with family by her side. She was born July 30, 1955, in Vandalia, Illinois, to Amel Ivan and Margaret Caroline Burgoto Marquis. Rose was a 1974 graduate of Shawnee High School. She worked as a beautician and enjoyed growing flowers, especially her sunflowers...

Rose Ann Prater, 63, of McClure, Illinois, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, at her home, with family by her side.

She was born July 30, 1955, in Vandalia, Illinois, to Amel Ivan and Margaret Caroline Burgoto Marquis.

Rose was a 1974 graduate of Shawnee High School. She worked as a beautician and enjoyed growing flowers, especially her sunflowers.

Loving survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Ann Matlock of McClure; a son, James Joseph Matlock of Gale, Illinois; a sister, Sharon (Ricky) Ring of Wolf Lake, Illinois; a nephew, Richard Brian Ring; and three grandsons, Lucas, Trenton and Lane Matlock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ricky Lane Prater; and nephew, Cody Ring.

A graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes, Illinois.

Memorial donations may be given to the family.
