PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Rosa W. Hemmann, 97, of Perryville, formerly of Frohna, Missouri, died Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville.
She was born July 9, 1922, in New Wells to Fred H. and Lina Gerler Kahnert. She and Harold E. Hemmann were married April 29, 1944, in New Wells. He preceded her in death May 25, 2005.
Rosa was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna. She was a homemaker, gardener and farmhand. Her family was her greatest treasure.
Survivors include her son, Richard (Sidney) Hemmann of Perryville; daughters, Marilyn (Wayne) Steffens of Cape Girardeau and Elaine (Rick) Miesner of Frohna; sister, Melva Rauss of Perryville; sisters-in-law, Burtie Hemmann of Uniontown, Missouri, and Alice Hacker of Perryville; grandchildren, Michael (Tracy) Hemmann, Matthew (Tiffany) Steffens, Heather (Ben) Ross, Benjamin (Melissa) Hemmann, Chad (Katie) Miesner, Ross (Alex) Hemmann, Derek (Julia) Miesner and Bethany (Ethan) Zoellner; and great-grandchildren, Brett (Brianna) Hemmann, Trevor (Jessalyn) Hemmann, Bailey Steffens, Hanna Kakouris, Audra Steffens, Dru Hemmann, Gavin Hemmann, Hadley Ross, Landon Miesner, Raelyn Miesner and Brice Miesner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Paul, George and Otto Kahnert; and sister, Meta Meyer.
Friends may call from 7 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Monday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna, with social distance guidelines in effect. The Rev. Paul Hoemann will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Concordia Lutheran Church.
